Jaded Heart is a hard rock band formed in 1994, with origins in Stockholm, Sweden and Duisburg, Germany. The band consists of Johan Fahlberg (vocals), Michael Müller (bass), Peter Östros (guitar), Bodo Stricker (drums) and Masahiro Eto (guitar).
Jaded Heart was founded in 1994 by Michael Müller, Axel Kruse, Dirk Bormann and vocalist Michael Bormann. Dirk Bormann left the band after the release of the debut album "Inside Out". The subsequent albums "Slaves and Masters" and "Mystery Eyes" were recorded with various guest guitarists. Guest musicians were also used for live performances until Barish Kepic joined as a permanent member. With him, the band travelled to the United States to record the album "IV" with producer and Axe member Bobby Barth. This release marked the first album produced at a professional level and brought the band wider international attention.
"The Journey Will Never End" was produced in Germany by Tommy Newton, known for his work with Helloween. It was the first album to feature keyboardist Henning Wanner, who replaced Chris Ivo after "IV". Due to personal differences, the band parted ways with Michael Bormann at the end of 2004 and recruited Swedish vocalist Johan Fahlberg as his successor. The album "Helluva Time" later gained cult status among fans. After its release, Barish Kepic left the band for personal reasons. For an upcoming European tour, Jaded Heart enlisted Frédéric Leclercq, later known as bassist of DragonForce, as a touring guitarist. Peter Östros subsequently joined as a permanent guitarist, becoming the second Swedish member of the band.
With this line-up, the band recorded the albums "Sinister Mind", "Perfect Insanity" and "Common Destiny" (2013), and undertook several European tours both as headliners and as support for acts such as Rage, Doro, Axel Rudi Pell and Shinedown. In 2013, Jaded Heart returned to Japan to promote "Common Destiny", which was also their first release on the label Fastball Music. The album remained in the official German DJ club charts for several weeks.
During a tour of Spain and appearances at summer festivals, including the Väsby Rock Festival in Sweden, the band began working on new material. In November 2015, they entered the Performance Studio in Frankfurt to record their next album. In spring 2016, Jaded Heart released their twelfth studio album, "Guilty by Design", via Massacre Records. A music video for the song "Rescue Me" was released in March 2016, followed by the album on 22 April.
