Died in Caracas one of the creators of the new wave
The Frank "pavo" formed part of the Venezuelan Trabuco and took a group called Macoya, pioneer of the Latin jazz in Venezuela .The last concert Francisco Antonio Hernández Valarín was 12 June of 2006 with the Municipal Symphony Orchestra of Caracas in the municipal theatre under the direction of Rodolfo Saglimbeni.
"Pavo" Frank is gone physically but leaves on the stage his rhythm, its energy, a wasteful talent, a legacy that includes their involvement in the creation of the new wave, alongside the also disappeared Aldemaro Romero and a trajectory that places it among the great Latin Percussionists at the world.
"What was overwhelming," remembered "Pavo" that show 2006, in a recent interview with the Alfredo Churión journalist. "No" I thought that it would be my last concert, but yes, I felt extremely tired and stifled, and already the balance I began to fail. Had not yet given me the LCA (accident brain-vascular). Even told my wife that he believed that "not could continue playing".
Churión remember it as a man "humble, simple and as musician is" "lost sight of". "I knew who was by reference until it" I personally met in my good days late , that program is transmitted by radio capital. I always drew attention to their work and I have "an important collection of your disks", recalls the journalist, who calculates the artist edited seven own discs and participated in one more twenty.
"Pavo" Frank was born in Villa de Cura Aragua State, 74 years -in september would fulfil the 75-. His passion for music begins next to your grandfather with whom I listened to the melodies of the radio . "Played my accompanied by what sounded so Bongo drum me entertained" on the estate of my grandparents, who realized my skills to the "music", recalled in an interview with Greece Solórzano.
In Caracas, since 1945, comes into contact with major orchestras. His debut as a drummer in the Manuel Ramos Orchestra and due to its young 15 years, co-workers what baptized as "the Pavito", motto that with the time and experience lost its diminutive.
Given its excellent performance with Orchestra Ramos becomes part of the Aldemaro Romero, with whom years later creates a pace that would mark a milestone in the history of the Venezuelan popular music. "The new wave was born as" the great creations: by chance! An advertising commissioned you and Aldemaro a Venezuelan topic... Wanted to give a modern environment because it was the time that was very fashionable Bossa Nova... When we were recording, to Aldemaro happened joropo Aragüita , but I was asked what touched jazzeado... The wedge was a success for us, because advertising was not
"approved".............................
In New York, "pavo" Frank acts alongside Tito Puente - whom even would replace-, José Fajardo, Randy Charles and Pérez Prado. Arrives to be the Mongo Santamaria solists, alternating with great figures of the Jazz as Machito, Dizzy Guillespie and Chick Corea, among others.
Journalist Xariel Sarabia no hesitation in catalog to the
Frank " El Pavo" as one of the most important characters Venezuelan popular music.
